On the 18th of August, Vestas announced that it will be moving its North American headquarters to a downtown Portland location - bringing with it over 200 new jobs for Oregonians. Vestas is just one of the many businesses that has relocated to our great state during this economic crisis.

In their report “Is the Grass Really Greener in Other States: An Oregon Perspective,” six Oregon-based business analysts discuss the economic situations in Oregon and five other western states. The bottom line is that our state is displaying the most promising job acceleration. Furthermore, they argue that Oregon’s legislature has been much kinder to business than Washington and California, for example. ”Frankly, the closer one looks at the other states in the region, the better Oregon looks.”
With that said, I would like to invite you all to the following volunteer events this Saturday, September 4th:
- In Sandy, we will be phone banking at my Sandy office (39110 C Proctor Blvd) starting at 11 AM, for just a few hours.
- In Hood River, I am having a door-to-door event with Majority Leader Mary Nolan and members of AFSCME, meeting at 10 AM at Jackson Park.
As always, thank you all for the support. See you Saturday!
